The Messy Games are an NMCC original. While there may be other games that involve getting a little dirty, there is only one Messy Games. Taking place every Wednesday at camp, the messy games are something campers and staff eagerly look forward to; each year's game is different and always full of surprises.

There are a few general things about the games and their long and messy history that should be pointed out. Notably, you won't see any mention of who won each year's games. That's because the Messy Games aren't truly a competition and we don't keep track of scores. The real victory is being able to fling slime at your friends while balancing an egg on a spoon and tiptoeing through an obstacle course as you try to avoid the barrage of slime coming at you… or something like that. Over the years, Messy Games have become one of the most anticipated activities at camp. In fact, they've reached such a level of popularity at camp that campers now regularly bring a white tee shirt with for them specifically for the games. At the end of each game, they're left with a shirt that has many additional colors added to it. After every Messy Games, we always head to the lake for a clean up swim.
